The Q-SYS family of touch screen controllers are Point of Entry devices designed to control an entire family of audio, video, and networked products for the enterprise level of video conferencing, collaboration, and room and environment control.
Vent details on the side were originally designed to provide ventilation, but also ended up being reveals for room status LEDs. They provide a nice level of quiet detail that is primarily noticed up close, so that the product may appear simple from a distance, but detailed up close. This is especially important when the display is mounted on the wall and the details on the back cannot be seen
While seldom seen, the backplate is designed with much attention to detail to reflect the brand philosophy that QSC cares about the details, seen and unseen, and implies a level of thought and craftsmanship that infuses the product.
The chamfered radius on the sides are designed to pull your eye away from the front edge to make the product appear thinner. Is also provides a soft touch point when the position of the monitor is adjusted by hand.
There is a small ledge between the  chamfered radius and the textured back to make sure the breaks are very clean and modern, and delineates the back textured surface from the softer chamfered radius.

The dot texture on the back was introduced as part of the design language for numerous reasons; To provide a distinct brand visual signature that identifies this as a QSC product; To reflect the advanced technology implemented in the product; to cover up any molding imperfections that the casting process may introduce on a broad, flat surface; and to increase the surface area on the back of the casting to provide additional heat sinking capabilities.
There is a glossy polycarbonate edge detail that surrounds the display glass. This glossy edge matches the finish of the screen, creating a seamless design that blends from screen to body. It makes the display look very thin to reflect modern display technology. This polycarbonate edge also protects the screen glass from breakage should it hit a hard edge.
The table top stand was designed to be visually unobtrusive but also to enhance the forms of the display, and still maintain the design language and attention to detail that the overall product contains.
They are available in 3 sizes, and can be placed on a desk, wall mounted in a Junction Box, stalk mounted, or glass mounted for conference room use.
The following explains the explanation of the design language and how all the visual features were incorporated to express the language keywords.
